Social media users have descended heavily on Kwame Asare Obeng widely known as Kwame A Plus over his comment about the death of NPP MP who was shot dead early today.
This follows after the anti-corruption campaigner posted a comment which sought to politicize the death of the MP. He accused the ruling New Patriotic Party of losing a legislator almost in every election year.
In the post sighted on his official Facebook page, he composed;
“The Member of Parliament for Mfantseman Constituency, Mr. Ekow Quansa Hayford, has been shot dead. Every election year an NPP MP will be killed.”
It seems his comment did not go down well to most Ghanaians who have jumped on his neck for his ‘deliberate intention’ to make this sad issue a politically related one.
Earlier this morning, Accra based Neat FM had an interaction with one of the survivors who is an eyewitness to the sad incident.
According to the witness whose name was not disclosed, they were returning home after a campaign activity in about 4 communities in the constituency. They passed Abankrom which is near to their final destination.
He narrated that they saw two big vehicles parked across the road and so thought it was an accident.
He continued, “So we decided to slow down to see what’s really happening. Honourable was at the front seat at the time, so he shouted upon seeing that it was armed robbers who have mounted some blockages on the road.”
According to the eyewitness, they decided to make a U-turn to escape them but they started chasing the vehicle until the driver stopped. “They told us to bring our items and money but the MP questioned them. One of the aggrieved robbers asked who the man was which he answered that he is an MP,” he added.
The robber then said these politicians are the cause of the mess in this country and that he will mess up his stomach just like they have messed up the country.
Meanwhile, Ghanaians have expressed fear and mixed reactions to the incident on social media while venting their anger on Kwame A-Plus over his comment. Ghana_News has gathered some reactions from other Ghanaians to share with you;
