Lionel Messi praises Asamoah Gyan

Lionel Messi who’s arguable the greatest footballer of all time has showed praises on former Blackstars skipper Asamoah Gyan also known as Baby Jet.

According to the Argentine international, Asamoah Gyan is one the greatest goal scorers he know.

 
 

Lionel Messi is giving Ghanaian football legend Asamoah Gyan his flowers following his exploits in football. 

 

The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner described Asamoah Gyan as a great goal scorer, describing his strike against Germany at the 2014 World Cup as one of his favourites from the Ghanaian. 

The Argentina and PSG star, in an interview with 90MinuteExtra, lavished praises on the 36-year-old, who recently launched his memoir.

“I like his hard work and dedication to his national team and clubs.” Messi said as quoted by Ghanaweb. 

“I watched him play several times and I really like his goal against Germany at the World Cup in 2014. 

“I might say he is one of the greatest goal scorers I have ever seen.” 

Asamoah Gyan is Ghana’s all-time leading scorer with 51 goals from 109 international appearances and remains Africa’s top scorer at the FIFA World Cup. 

The former Stade Rennais and Sunderland star is yet to announce his retirement despite being inactive for over a year after leaving Ghana Premier League side Legon Cities. 

The ex-Black Stars captain revealed his desire to play for Asante Kotoko before ending his glittering career. 

Last month Asamoah Gyan launched his maiden book, which tells the story of his career and life.

Asamoah Gyan launches his maiden book LeGyandary

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that it was indeed a legendary night for Ghana’s iconic striker Asamoah Gyan as he launched his book at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra. 

The book which is titled ‘LeGyandary’, chronicles the former Sunderland forward’s early days and his rise to fame. 

In photos posted on Twitter, spotted by Sports Brief, the former Sunderland striker was all smiles as he unveiled his new book on Saturday night.
